FluxMed GrNIV

The FluxMed GrNIV main features:

  • Optimized for high flow
  • Single flow sensor connected between the nasal canula and the circuit
  • Meassurement of respiratory rate and ROX index
  • Estimated tidal volumen, minute ventilation and patient effort
  • Trend plot

The FluxMed GrNIV applies the FluxMed measurement principle, flow and pressure at the airway, to patients on high flow nasal cannula. It is designed for an open system with an unknown leak.

The flow sensor is connected between the nasal cannula and the circuit, without modifying the patient interface. Respiratory rate and ROX index are calculated continuously, breath by breath, providing an objective and up-to-date view of the patient's course during HFNC therapy.

Tidal volume, minute ventilation and patient effort are estimated from the flow and pressure signals. These estimates are most reliable with the mouth closed and are intended to assess the evolution of the patient over time, rather than to replace direct measurement.

The FluxMed GrNIV provides an estimate of inspiratory effort based on a respiratory mechanics model. The operator selects the lung mechanics condition to adjust the model to the patient.
